A TYPICAL FALL WEEK AHEAD

Advertising

We'd like to be able to tell our family that at the very least we get gas and coffee money out of this venture.  So, in order to maintain even a modicum of familial respect, we are accepting  advertising.

Before you shake your head in disgust, let me assure you that along with our web experts we have put a lot of effort into the design of the Huntsville Online and are not going to let advertising take over and compromise the look.  There will be no banner ads,  flashing lights or come-ons that distract you the visitor.  I, David, am very proud of the look of our advertising section and that's thanks to the work of Kyra Watters and Ondrej Blazek.

We are certainly not wealthy but we are also not greedy or desperate, therefore we won't take just anybody.  Advertisers have to be businesses that we would patronize.  They have to offer goods and services that are socially defensible.  They have to conform to our design.   If they don't deliver a level of service that makes us proud to include them in our family they will be disowned.  We hope to get to the point that they need us more than we need them.

If nothing else we have created an approach to advertising that is quite unique on the web.  Whether this will be successful is another matter.
